Nail Art - Nail Art Pictures - Nail Art Gallery - Cool Nail Designs and Nail Art

Everyone has a frustrating client or story that sometimes gets to the point of just ridiculous.

Here's one of mine.....

Client shows up with a gift certificate that was supposed to be for fingers and toes but decides she wants only fingers with 'exceptional art' she says.

By 'exceptional' she meant she wanted every nail encrusted with crystal stones in all colors and sizes. No acrylic gems. Totally covered.  Ok.  I give her that then put a couple layers of gel on top because she is sure to lose some of them at the tips.  A week later she calls and says that since I do repairs for free she would like to have the rhinestones replaced because they are ALL missing.  I'm devastated that this has happened to her and agree to replace them.  Again a week later she calls and goes through the same story that she needs to have them all replaced again.  I am baffled and embarrassed and commence to replacing all the stones again.  When I get to the part where I apply the gel to help keep them on she says "Oh no.  Can you just use polish this time?  They are too hard to get off with the gel."  ??????????

She then explains to me that she has a friend that gets her nails done elsewhere and the tech charges extra to use her own rhinestones but applies them for free if you bring in your own.  So this gal has been picking off the crystals I applied to her and giving them to her friend to take to her own tech!

Anybody else got a laughable moment?

Lol sounds like her & her friend is cheap, because they is getting over on the both of yall, I hoped u stoped it & started charging, now again good one

That's really crazy. My suspicions would have peaked when she called the second time...you're a good one. Next time I'd charge her twice as much since you're providing art for two people. I had a client that gave my number to a friend. When the girl contacted me she really threw her current nail tech under the bus. When she asked what I charged, and it was $5 more than what she was paying, she wanted to tell me she could get everything for $30 from her tech. I told her keep going to her, even though she had such ill feelings toward her,and her work just 2 minutes earlier. Guess she thought I was going to bid for her business- so not the case. LOL.

I get my hackles raised when a new client or potential client trashes their current tech.  Means I'll be trashed next.  I'd love to hear what her previous tech had to say about HER as a client!  LOL!

I once had a girl that was friends with a few of my clients message me on face book. She said I want to take you on as a nail tech but asked if I would do her nails a full set for the price of a fill because she doesn't have a job and not a lot of money and it would be our little secret, and if I don't do it thats fine because she has  a nail tech friend that will....
Basically assuming im so desperate for clients that I either give her a deal or else she's going somewhere else!!!..
yes please I want your cheap ass as a client, someone who is willing to barley pay me for my time, has no job which means she would be a last min cancelling client or she would keep asking for discounts and expect it from me. And clearly doesn't respect me. Yes please PLEASE BE MY CLIENT hahahah no thanks i'm looking for clients who have enough money to afford nails and maybe even tip! not someone where i'm loosing $20 on jeez I dont even personally know her I just laughed so hard and never ever spoke to her again!

some people is just plain stupid!!!! people seems to think this is our hubby not our job where we make money..

It gets very difficult when you work from home as well.  I do give a slight price break because I don't have the overhead of booth rent but no matter what everyone believes they should get an extra special deal because somehow they are doing ME a favor by coming to me for nails.  I have created work that would be upwards of $100 sometimes in a standard or even a cut rate salon.  When I raised my flat-rate for nails and art to $25 alot of ladies bailed on me because they said I was just getting greedy.  Sometimes I wish I wasn't addicted to doing nails.....

I have the same problem! I also work from home and try to keep my prices reasonable but we also have a living to make..like WTF they wouldnt thing about haggling over the price if they went to a salon..I do a lot of airbrushing and it pisses me off after Ive done a set of sick nails yet they moan about the price or act like I should be grateful for their custom!

Just because u work at home or in a salon they should pay the same price. Don't never take less, tell them u aren't no slave & u don't leave in China working 4 pennies eather, that's what u went 2 school 4 2 get paid 2 doing something u love 2 & u give them ur all they shouldn't short u, I'm sorry no way, do u always 100%, no shorts

Frustration has finally exceeded satisfaction after 26 years.  I have formally QUIT clients and am now focusing solely on cataloging my history of art and putting together my own little scrap book.  Sigh.

oh no, what's happened? what will you do from now on? its such a shame, to let nasty clients stop you from doing what you love doing!

You shouldnt let the bad ones stop you from doing what you love..Ýou should just have a cull and keep the clients that don't give you hassle..there are always more clients :D Chin up and good luck :)

I'm pray 4 u, don't never let nasty clients take u from what u love god will send 2 good clients 2 replace her keep fighting, hang in there,I bless ur heart wit happiness & joy still in everything u do because no matter what its hard out here & also 2 faith, noatter what god walks with all of us. Trust me I really undrstnd.
