So I am very new to doing nails. For all the nail techs out there please help me out. I am getting discorauged because I take too long to do nails. I started doing nails in July and since I am still in school I feel like I am never going to get faster. I practise on practise fingers but that is not the same as a full set. Do you guys recomend anything to help me move faster any short cuts lol?
Thank you,

I'd say try not to worry about how long it's taking, just focus on putting out the very best set of nails you can. Your clients will appreciate a great set of nails more than a quick in and out. And the more you do the better and faster you'll get without comprimising the quality of your service. Just know we all start somewhere!! :)
so everywhere I go everyone says awww I love your nails, and I have been doing all of my families nails and boy do I have a lot of girls and they always say omg everyone loves my nails. so I think i'm doing a good job so the time is killing me.
thers no exact time since each client is different. on myself it takes me 3 hours and ive been doing them for a year lol bt hey most people can't even do them on themselves. On a client it takes me around 1 and a half hours for really simple bt if im doing long sets with a lot of decoration mayb 3. what i did to get faster is do my sisters nails all the time, good thing she loves getting them done and so does my mom. or get a practice hand and do sets on ur free time :)
I agree with all the ladies above!!! Just keep doing sets and in time your pick up speed, you'll find your level of comfort and it will all fall into place Im a newbie ( licensed going on 7 months) and I already see the difference in the sets Im doing now! TIME, PATIENCE && PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!! Best Wishes Keep Painting!!!
Thank you, all of you girls words inspire me to continue.
Thank you again.
I won't give up. thanks for your kind words. I will continue practising. i luv your work by the way!
Permalink Reply by HarrisAlan on November 13, 2011 at 9:43pm I am a newbie too. To the beginning, I spent a lot of time to do nails and I becomed impatient and uneasy at that time. However, just keep on doing several times correctly, I make progress. Practice makes pertfects. Before you gain anything, do not give up.
Thank you so much! I feel a lot better, I get worried because I want to build clientel due to my good work but I do not wasnt to loose them because of time. I'm 6 months away from graduating i hope to have gotten more practise by the time i'm done.
